MAZ-7911 “Oplot-A” – the first basic 20-ton long wheelbase 650-horsepower chassis with two cabins and a power unit placed behind them, designed for installation of military bodies and special superstructures. In terms of design it was a reinforced version of the MAZ-543. The prototype was built in 1973, in 1975 passed state tests and until 1979 it was produced in small series under separate orders. The range of tire pressure regulation was 1.0 – 3.5 kgf/cm2. The mounting length of the frame (6140 mm) and fuel consumption (80 liters per 100 km) corresponded to the model 543. Curb weight of the truck without superstructure – 21 350 kg, gross weight – 41.6 tons. Overall dimensions – 11 520x3050x2670 mm. The total volume of fuel tanks in 790 liters allowed to increase the range up to 925 km.

It was a modernization of MAZ-543 MAZ-7911 “Oplot-A” – basic chassis. Experimental since 1973, small series 1975-1979. MAZ-79111 “Oplot-V” – the second basic chassis. Experimental in 1974, serial from 1975 to ser. 80-х. Left cabin (as well as MAZ-543M). Single copies were made to order. MAZ-79112 – special shortened chassis, prototype in 1974.
